It revolves around surfing, swimming, community, leisure and prioritises beach safety, as championed by local volunteers. In this special edition we examine one of the most quintessential Australian Volunteer organisations... Surf Life Saving. Surf Life Saving Australia is the nation’s largest volunteer movement, boasting over 207,000 members. We look at the origins of surf clubs as well as their functions in today's age. We also take a look at Beach Cleaning Volunteers. All this and more inside our 17th edition.
